I am not in the least surprised by these paragraphs, I have said all along that discrimination is rife throughout TPE driver management. Mark Atkinson is once again the manager named above. As in my case, processes and procedures were totally manipulated to the pre determined outcome that TPE wanted.
Petty and vindictive are TransPennine Express Traits but are they First Group Traits? Above is evidence again that shows Atkinson in his true light, evidence from the way he treated Darren Waters is on this website, Atkinson actually head butted Darren Waters at an awards evening, something a mere mortal of a driver would be dismissed for, yet as pointed out above, internal investigations are the biggest waste of time ever, because the bully always wins. What would make someone in his position behave the way he does?

UNBELIEVABLY SHOCKING: "AMOUNT OF SAFETY OF THE LINE INCIDENTS", "REPEAT INCIDENTS", and this is information from a driver who still drives trains for TransPennine Express. How far away is a major incident with the loss of life?
"drivers will go to the trouble of trying to cover their incidents up, knowing the dangers", all caused by what appears to be a complete lack of guidance and of course what appears to be a lack of knowledge within their management team. Their IGNORANCE on safety issues is well documented, yet I am being inundated with much more, they are heading for oblivion and are far too involved in themselves to see it.
SAFETY BRIEFS are a fundamental ingredient in ensuring staff are up to date on all aspects of their job, so much can be learned by both sides in one of these meetings, but for TransPennine Express management safety briefs are non existent, they were from 2004 to 2009 and they clearly are today. My own record on attendance to these so called safety briefs is enough evidence of this, 2 in 5 years that TPE were aware of, (it was actually 3).
TransPennine Express IGNORE everything, sadly the Cullen Report was only a recommendation and not mandatory. The Government, health and safety executive, railway inspectorate and the unions are to blame for allowing this. It is absolutely no wonder that station overruns, failure to calls etc, are prevalent, you treat safety as a joke like these bodies are doing then you will live to regret it.
"Recent recruits", exactly what they are, recruited not for their experience but for their brown tongues, they are the teachers pet, they are chosen because they will never question the management, I do know of some instructors who had the experience, without naming them I heard that they resigned. A wealth of knowledge wasted because I am told they questioned the methods of training and the way there were asked to assess drivers and pick petty faults, which in their opinion was quite simply wrong. Please, please, please don't remind me of the famous TPE saying, "if it is not safe, don`t do it", the author sums it up perfectly, "but the reality couldn`t be more different".

"Risk Assessments". TransPennine Express have no idea of risk assessments, if they did, then there wouldn`t be repeat failings such as the Stalybridge incident, Summit Tunnel or on a smaller scale, Manager Andrew Steele pouring boiling water over a warning horn trumpet after climbing down off an iced platform. My reports are full of requests for risk assessments, Siemens Depot opening was an absolute farce, no risk assessment was carried out.
The Yarm 185 issue is another example of TPE doing what they like, I do ask again though, why did the RMT and ASLEF allow this? What did they do about this? Why doesn`t someone ask TPE for a copy of this so called risk assessment?

PREVENTION? There will be more and more incidents within TPE because of this one ingredient in a large equation, BARRY COOK, especially through the concerns shown above.
Barry Cook and his under managers are simply untouchable and unaccountable, those involved in the chain of events that surrounded the Slaithwaite incident would not have been investigated, therefore it would have been impossible to learn anything from this. Anyone who points out serious safety concerns to this management will put themselves at risk of discrimination, you risk losing your job.

"that this document is the work of a very disgruntled or sacked ex employee", sadly there are that many individuals that have been sacked by this regime and all of them sacked without substance, everyone at TPE knows that I was dismissed because I openly stood up to the bullies, but much more importantly I constantly exposed their failings on safety related matters. By what I am being told and the information that I have received, I doubt very much there will be many happy people working for TPE, the YOUR VOICE surveys are proof of this.

"The company surely must know that it exists", of cause they know and so do members of First Group Board (or do they?), all it shows is that IGNORANCE is rife throughout the entire company, they have nowhere to hide when their day of reckoning comes. I may be a little hasty in stating that FIRST GROUP BOARD are aware of this, one thing is certain, they now know about it, only time will tell if they do anything about this.
Driver monitoring: A complete farce, if your face doesn`t fit they will download you until they find a problem, as for assessments, I was lucky if a driver manager rode with me once within a year, so what was wrote in my records? It certainly wasn`t only driver manager Paul Russell who falsified driver records! Peter Turpin must have done exactly the same.

The above is this person`s cry for help, how else can they do this? I know how they feel, I also know that their frustrations will spill into their work and home life, as it was sent in 2012 then it was obviously IGNORED, this is simply corruption at the highest level that any normal person cannot do anything about. The bullying of staff, blatant disregard and arrogant attitude towards safety and rules and standards of practise is commonplace and acceptable behaviour within Transpennine Express and other First Group rail operating companies (of which I have proof). This is allowed because the unions, railway inspectorate and HSE IGNORE workers representations, just take a look at HMRI Inspector Mark Lenderyou`s attitude towards me despite explaining to him that TPE IGNORED my reports.
It says everything when a train driver is frightened to approach his management on health and safety issues he deems extremely dangerous that they put peoples lives at risk. His own words are, "FEAR OF RECRIMINATIONS". Everyone saw what happened to me, I challenged this management every day, only to be IGNORED and IGNORED, they eventually dismissed me on something that was nowhere near a gross misconduct charge, this was their weapon of choice, it was a control measure that stopped anyone reporting issues on health and safety. It clearly worked otherwise this person would have taken their worries to TPE management, instead they are stuck in limbo and what a disgusting state of affairs this is.
As for the results from the your voice survey which shows everyone exactly what this management are, who cares? TPE couldn`t give a damn, First Group Board couldn`t care less, I am afraid unless your unions become a union, you have no hope.

Even if this person had not remained anonymous, nothing would happen, (except that they would be hunted down and dismissed) they are all corrupt, jobs for the boys springs to mind, lets look at this at face value, overwhelming evidence of malpractice that has the potential to put peoples lives at risk, yet not even a response, this person hasn't written a fictional novel, what is written here is sadly REALITY.
