Same old sorry state of affairs!
Brought to my attention by a current Driver who will remain anonymous for fear of retribution.
50422 Late notice case not updated and lack of reporting forms: (From the CIRAS website, May 2012)
(Main points only being displayed from CIRAS)
"Concern has been expressed that at Newcastle depot the late notice case is not being updated regularly. Reporting forms are also unavailable.
Late notice case: Drivers are not receiving important
information in a timely manner because the late notice case is not being updated regularly. This is due in part to Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD) reports being posted in the wrong notice case".
"Drivers are concerned that if the notices are not properly displayed they may be missed and this could result in a safety related incident".
Groundhog day for me all over again, I complained on a weekly basis that the late notice case was never up to date, I will post the proof later.
What is of the utmost importance is the emergency speed restrictions, my reports will highlight why.
What this shows is just how poor this Driver management team are and sadly allowed to behave in this way, because nobody listens and nobody cares. They audit themselves with these notice cases and find nothing wrong! Just as my letter from the Office of Rail Regulator shows below.
TPE response below, clearly misses the reporters argument.
"There is a process in place whereby notices are updated by the Driver management team during the daily or weekly depot checks. This process is also supported by Senior Driver Instructors".
If such a process is in place, then it is clearly failing to deal with the situation. Why do they never learn? The answer is the USUAL ONE OF IGNORANCE. This is the basics, yet they cannot get it right.
Below No3: I had to complain to the ORR because there were so many emergency speed restrictions in place without driver's being notified via the late notice case and TPE management IGNORED my complaints (AS ALWAYS).
The ORR response shows what I was up against, these individuals were in the back pocket of TPE. Did they really expect anything other from an "Internal Audit", than everything is fine?

Remember this: The driver who complained to CIRAS did so in 2012, this letter was 6 years earlier!
