Appointed Chief Executive in November 2010, he joined the board as a Non-Executive Director in May 2009 and was subsequently appointed Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive in June 2010.
He was until the end of April 2009, Managing Director of London Underground. He joined Transport for London in 2003 prior to which he was President and Chief Executive of Consolidated Rail Corporation. He is a Non-Executive Director of CSX Corporation, a Rail Freight Transportation Company in North America.

I sent you the following emails to try and give you an insight into the behaviour of your Management and much more importantly their IGNORANCE towards Health & Safety, supposedly a First Group Value?

Since 2006 Lost Time Injuries and passenger injuries are down by approximately 50%. Nonetheless, during the year, four of our employees were tragically killed as a result of accidents at work. While our thoughts are with their families, friends and colleagues these terrible tragedies remind us that there is nothing more important than the safety of our staff and our customers. We remain relentless in the pursuit of our goal to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries".
I have seen this all before, the wording sounds good, (not the 4 deaths I may add), but you need to take a long hard look at reality. Please check out my website, tpeconspiracy.weebly.com
and you will see what type of employee relations you have and more importantly what type of safety culture exists within TransPennine Express.
Due to everything that I have been through, I do not expect any response, IGNORANCE is rife within TPE, which leads me to think that maybe this is what First Group want to promote.
My website holds some startling information and challenges everyone to refute the allegations, so far I have heard nothing, but then again with evidence like what I have produced this is hardly surprising.

As I have not received any response from yourselves, I will give you one last chance.
The health and safety culture within Transpennine Express was (is?) non existent, as I was the health and safety representative for many years, I know first hand what went on.
The evidence is there for all to see on my website, if you don`t have the time to look through this evidence, then get someone to do it for you.
It may well be that this type of IGNORANCE towards staff and health and safety law is something that is rife all the way through the First Group Organisation, failing to check out my serious allegations against TPE Management could well backfire on you.
In the future, if there is ANY incident or accident involving a First Group Company which results in injury or death, then I will hold you personally responsible, playing Russian Roulette always ends in DEATH.

Mr O'Toole, read my section on SUMMIT TUNNEL, it shows you what IGNORANCE can cause, this was totally avoidable, I even suggested how to avoid this type of incident from occurring, DO YOU REALISE HOW LUCKY YOU WERE? WHAT DO YOU THINK AN ENQUIRY WOULD HAVE MADE OF MY EVIDENCE IF THERE HAD BEEN ANY FATALITIES?

The response was to refer me back to the letter I received from MD Nick Donovan! This shows everyone what this company is, yet there is still time to restore some pride and dignity. This letter told me that First Group won the employment tribunal! They did win but only by committing perjury!
Over 5 years later and sadly my words came true, seven people lost their lives, it sickens me beyond belief.
